The boys and girls in P5/6C have had an extremely busy, yet enjoyable term. We have been exploring ‘Music and Dance Around the World’ which has been a fantastic topic to learn about. Luckily we have met a lot of talented people along the way! We have worked with a professionally trained dancer every week who has taught us rock and roll, cha cha cha, salsa, samba and pasodoble steps. What a lucky bunch we are! We are studying the music back in the classroom too. We know the origins of rock and roll, can name some key singers and importantly, know where in the world the music originated from. We have used instruments to create a hatsiasia, a piece of music from Ghana and most recently, visited Hazlehead Academy where we thoroughly enjoyed a Samba Butucada workshop. It’s now time to get practicing for our Airyhall Strictly Come Dancing performance at the end of the term.
