Today, Primary 1/2 had great fun making our very own pizzas at Pizza Express! We started by using our hands to flatten and stretch the dough to make a nice crispy base.
Then we spread the tomato sauce on to our pizzas. We learned that the Italian name for this is passata. Each tin of passata has 2 basil leaves inside it and if one of these ends up on your pizza it is considered good luck!
Once we had added the cheese it was time to put our pizzas in the stone oven. While they were cooking we got to taste some of the ingredients. We tried tomatoes, red peppers, red onion, mushrooms and olives. Some of us weren’t convinced by some of the tastes!
At the end of the day we all got to take home our very own pizza! They smelled so good it was difficult not to eat them on the way back. We managed to wait though and decided we’d rather share them with the people at home.
