Over the last couple of weeks, P6R have been working on an exciting ‘Top Gear Design Challenge’. Firstly, the children worked collaboratively to create a group name and logo. The children then worked together to come up with a design before building a prototype using k-nex. On competition, vehicles were tested against competitors and judged on their design, control, speed and ability to carry objects. After reflecting on results, the children discussed how they could improve their vehicles performance and re-built their prototypes.
The children have completed their second build and are now ready to test their final design. Following this, the children will compare results with their first build.
As a final task, the children will be given the opportunity to create a poster or PowerPoint to present their vehicle to other teams.
