Well it’s now the last month for P7 at Airyhall and what a busy time we have been having. Lots of opportunities for team building, added responsibilities, meeting new people experiencing new things and learning skills for life.
We have been working with the younger children and helping them with their writing which was both fun and in some cases quite challenging with some tricky spelling!
Those going to Hazlehead Academy had a very busy, informative visit meeting lots of new people and experiencing, ICT, Maths, Literacy and PE lessons. The canteen seemed to go down particularly well and the children came back very positive and really excited about their forthcoming 3 day visit. RGC, Cults and Aberdeen Grammar visits have also been equally positive.
Cromdale was an amazing experience with lots of life skills learned including bed making and hoovering!
Our topics this term are Transport Design, Living and Growing, Peer Pressure and Transition.
We were very lucky to have had a team of NHS nurses to lead our Living and Growing day which was very informative and all the P7 s showed a very mature and responsible approach to the topic. Well done a credit to the school.
On Thursday we also experienced an amazing performance of Alice in Wonderland and the P7s had a drama workshop run by the cast which focussed on expression and projection skills which hopefully will stand us in good stead for our Leavers Assembly!
