P4G – Childhood through the Ages

Primary 4G have had an excellent start to the new school year. We were invited to the Sports Village to take part in some sports activities and welcome the Australian Commonwealth Games baton to Aberdeen. It surprised us with lots of colour changing lights and you may have even spotted some of us being interviewed by STV on television.

Our Childhood through Ages topic has also been lots of fun. We have found out about how children during the Victorian era lived, worked and played. We also explored what life was like as a child evacuee during World War 2 and we considered how these children might have felt about leaving home on their own through a series of freeze frames. We also tried our hand at making paper airplanes, a favourite toy at the time. We are getting very good at using a safe search to help us find relevant information online. Now we are looking forward to finding out more about our grandparents’ and parents’ childhood and sharing the results of our interview homework. Thank you to all of those who shared some of their childhood experiences with us.
