What a fantastic and fun-filled start to the year! Everyone has settled in and we have been enjoying our topic- Childhood through the Ages.
On the first week back we had the opportunity to visit The Sports Village to see the Queen’s Baton Relay. We played various sports and games, worked alongside other local schools and passed around the real Australian Commonwealth Baton for 2018! It was a fantastic day and some of us even appeared on STV news later that night!
Our topic has been very interesting this term and we have enjoyed learning about childhood during The Victorians and WWII. We have done lots of independent research on our school iPads using a safe search. We have also learnt about toys, games, children and we even had a chance to act out some dramatic freeze frames to represent the Evacuees! We are now learning about our Grandparents and Parents era and, thanks to our friends and families, we have first-hand accounts of their childhoods to use and inform our learning!
We look forward to starting our new topic next term!
Thanks for reading,
