Airyhall Primary offers a high quality learning experience for all children in our care from Nursery to Primary 7.
We pride ourselves on having an excellent partnership between school and parents/carers through having an ‘open door’ policy. There are many ways that parents/carers actively contribute to the life of the school. Please navigate to the Parents section of our website to read about the positive effect parents/carers are making to our school. We recognise the benefits to our pupils of parents, staff and partners working together and we aim to provide a school in which all adults and children feel welcome and at ease. We have an active Parent Council and PTA. A large number of parents help in classes and with after school clubs and support the curriculum by coming in to school to talk to pupils. With parents, we regularly share information regarding progress that their child is making. We share Learning Journeys with parents on a weekly basis and ask that achievements out with school are recorded which are shared with the class teacher . Parents/carers may be invited to take part in focus groups where they can share ideas on how to improve practise and comment on the work we are doing. Questionnaires may also be devised to gauge parent feeling on a number of areas. Parents are also free to chat with staff regarding any concerns/suggestions they may have.
