Term 3 was full of French fun in P3D! We all became immersed in French culture, landmarks and food for our topic – ‘The French Café’.
We enjoyed learning about what life is like in France and of course more of the beautiful French language. All of this learning helped us to prepare for our spectacular Easter Show – ‘Springtime in Paris’. After months of rehearsals, we put on a show to remember for the rest of the school and our families. We did amazingly well and all felt very proud of ourselves!
In class, we enjoyed taking part in a collaborative STEM challenge to build the Eiffel Tower … out of newspaper. This task took concentration, team work and engineering skills. Each group did brilliantly at creating their own unique structures.
We also loved learning about some famous French people. We learned about musicians, actors, historical figures and artists. One of the artists that we studied was Paul Cezanne. We looked at his use of composition, colour and technique and then created our own still life paintings in his image.
To celebrate the end of our topic, we got together with the other P3 classes to have a big French breakfast. It was a great way to test out our improved French knowledge and language skills and to celebrate the success of our show.
Our next topic will be all about technology and sustainability. We can’t wait!
