Last term at Airyhall who would believe it?
We have been preparing for our transition to Secondary and have been looking at the concept of peer pressure and building on strategies to deal with this to allow us to make positive choices. We had a visit from Sebastian Cook our Community Police Officer who carried out an Internet Safety workshop showing how to stay safe online and behaving responsibly when using Social Media. We have also been designing the bodywork of our Greenpower cars and have started our test drives in preparation for the Alford event on Saturday 16 th June. Team drivers will be announced once times have been recorded for all the children.
We have had other visitors, a great afternoon with Baker Hughes Engineers where they shared their knowledge on Oil exploration and a career in Engineering, we also took part in a design and build challenge , building an oil platform/ rig from paper!
We have also been enjoying sessions with RGU Student Coaches who have been working with the children on tennis, rugby and basketball skills.
We have chosen our P7 Assembly songs and are practising these and trying hard to learn the words. We have also been writing personal poetry about our classmates for posterity. Lots of transition events coming up over the next few weeks along with the long awaited Cromdale residential trip. A busy, busy term…
