This morning, P6R went on a trip to Toby Carvery to attend Toby’s Chef School. After arriving by bus, our first activity was to design our very own chef hat. Secondly, we learned about food hygiene – how to wash our hands properly as well as information about safe food preparation. We also learned why our bodies need protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals. Next, we made cookies in groups using a variety of toppings including chocolate chips, Oreo pieces, raisins and jam – they were yummy! Before leaving, we tucked into a scrumptious roast (we had the choice of beef, turkey, pork or gammon). The Yorkshire puddings were ginormous – 7cm tall! We are now back at school with full tummies and are looking forward to P.E later this afternoon… Big thanks to Sarah and David at Toby’s Chef School and Freddie’s Mum, Poppy’s Grandma and Lily’s Granda for joining us.
