Airyhall School visits the Town House

Last year, as part of our Eco Work the Eco Group wrote a letter to the School Meals Service asking them to remove plastic straws from the School Meals Service. Pupils were pleased to see that this was done very soon after their letter was posted. Recently pupils were invited to attend the Town House Council meeting where this was discussed as an option to roll out across the city. They teamed up with Hanover Street School who had also been involved with trying to reduce single use plastic through their own Eco campaign. Pupils were able to watch the council meeting from the public gallery and were also mentioned a number of times during the debate. Thank you to all the pupils who took part. It is great to see them making a change in such an important way.
