Well what a busy term it has been in P5B! We all settled very quickly into class and got back into the school routines after the Summer holidays.
This term we have been learning about a comparison country, Scotland Vs Australia. We have looked at landmarks, map positioning and land use. We enjoyed having a debate about land use, using the new Kingsford Stadium as our focus. We compared sunshine and rainfall through bar graphs. We learned about land use using percentages and pie charts. We have had lots of opportunities for Art through skyline painting comparisons. We also had a go at Pointillism incorporating Australian animals and some aboriginal symbols! We have ended our topic today by designing a STEM challenge- creating the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
It was lovely to meet some of you at our Slopefield Open Afternoon and our Class Open Afternoon not forgetting parent’s evening. I wish you all a restful October holidays and look forward to next term’s adventures.
