An Enterprising Term for P3D

Term 2 has been busy as always for P3D.  We have enjoyed carrying out our Enterprise topic which began with a look into the skills needed to be an entrepreneur.

We then looked at a fictional entrepreneur, thinking about what made him so successful.  The entrepreneur in question was the one and only Willy Wonka!

We have loved reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and learning all about what made this character so skilled at running his business.

One of our tasks was to write persuasively to try and convince Mr Wonka to hire us as his next Oompa Loompa!  After we learned how good we were at being persuasive, we spent the next few days encouraging Miss Donald to give us lots of extra dojos. She couldn’t say no!

One of wonderful classmates was even inspired to make a cane just like Mr Wonka’s at home which she took in to share with us.  What as super star!

All of this research helped us to plan, budget and create our own Christmas Enterprise Project.  This year, P3 made Rudolph Glasses – perfect to enjoy all your festive drinks in!  We had a great time selling them at the Christmas Fair and want to say a big thank you to anyone who supported us by buying one.

Another treat this term was our class visit to Slopefield Allotment.  Terry and the team provided another fantastic experience for us which included learning about bees, planting crocuses and tulips and digging up some veg to take back to school with us.

Finally, in maths, we have been working hard on improving our knowledge and understanding of symmetry.  To help us, we used pegboards and Numicon to create symmetrical designs showing the line of symmetry.  It was great fun working with our partners to do this!
