We have had a very busy start to term 3, learning about Hinduism and the different gods.
During art we have created the Aum symbol out of tissue paper, Aum is a very holy symbol in Hinduism and is said at the beginning and end of Hindu prayers. We also learnt about how Hindu brides get Mehndi on their hands for their wedding, in art we create our own Mehndi patterns.
In P.E P2 have been doing yoga, have a look at some of the poses they have been learning:
During maths we have been learning about block graphs and created one as a whole class that looks at how many letters are in each pupil’s name. They all got a chance to add their own name to the graph!
We then moved onto money and have been looking at the different coins, their value and combining them to calculate the total.
We also finished our topic on Rights. P2 all got into groups and were discussing the rights that they have as children and the rules that are put in place to ensure they all get their rights. P2 had many team discussions and worked together to come up with a team name, logo, form their plan and they gave a small team presentation explaining to the class why their activity would be the best! At the end they voted on their four different activities.
Now P2 are looking at Fairtrade and the importance of supporting the farmers who grow and make the products that we buy in the shops.
