This afternoon, Julia Black retuned to P6 to talk to us about filtration. We used samples from local rivers, ponds and burns and had a go at filtering the water ourselves using funnels and filter paper. We took swabs of the original sample and our filtered samples. We are excited to see the results!
Last week, we took swabs of various items around the classroom to see what bacteria would grow. Julia kept the petri dishes in an incubator all week and brought the samples back to show us today. Yuck! We were particularly disgusted with the results from Miss Ross’ phone (although in her defence she did have a very sore throat last week)!
