In P3D, we have been immersed in our new topic for this term which is based around the Nuart Festival.
We began our topic by considering what art is. We agreed that art should be creative, individual and expressive. However, we also discovered that art is subjective and that people react to pieces of art in different ways.
We explored a variety of media and techniques, looking at the work of different prominent artists. We thought about how artists use shape, line, texture, tone and colour to express themselves in their work.
Then we moved onto discovering more about the Nuart Festival itself. We looked at the artists that took part in the festival last year and this year, replicating and reflecting on their work.
Mrs. Houston even arranged for us to go on a tour to see the artwork in real-life. Fortunately, we got a stunning day and had a wonderful guide to show us around. We were struck by the beauty and scale of all the artwork. What an incredible experience!
We will continue to explore our creativity over the next few weeks by constructing our own Lego art project in the school garden. Watch this space!
